Select your preferred featured image layout. Note: If choosing full-width banner, best upload dimensions are 2000 pixels wide by 550 pixels tall — the view will be consistent with these settings. If you use an image with different dimensions, there may be zooming or cropping.

Select Transparent for no overlay, dark gradient to help a lighter-text bottom-positioned title show up, light gradient to help a darker-text bottom-positioned title show up.

A color code with opacity setting example is rgba(0,51,102,.7) for a slightly transparent dark blue. The .7 means “70% opacity.” Full opacity is 1, full transparency is 0.

For large screens with browser windows over 2000 pixels wide, select a color and the image will be overlayed with an additional gradient that blends to that background color on the right and left of the image. You will not see this unless the screen size is very large. Default is #fff, or white.

This will move the title from the column below to float over the featured image. Positioning at bottom will align with paragraph below.

Only valid if you are showing your title over the image. Determine your text color based on the image and gradient you selected above. Usually, you’ll either do either a dark gradient with white text or a light gradient with black text. White is #fff, black is #000. Default value is #fff.

In certain situations, you may wish not to show the featured image on a page. For example, if you want to feature a video at the beginning of your page, the featured image may interfere with the layout of the video. This selection also allows the featured image to still be used in other areas of the site where a link to the page is displayed.

Featured menu, usually at the top of the page. If this page has children, by default those pages inherit the parent’s menu setting.

This option keeps the featured image of this page from displaying on a parent page.

When the excerpt field on a page has content, that content is used as the summary for the page when it is featured in other places on the site. This can come in handy when you have specific text you want to appear as a teaser and also when you have a page utilizing embedded content, including Content Blocks as well as video embeds.

The excerpt is also used as a description for search engine results unless another field overrides this.

Whatever you type here will replace “Read More” on pages where you feature this page.
