What do you know about UTO beyond the little blue boxes?
Did you know that “100% of all funds given to United Thank Offering are granted the following year to support innovative mission and ministry in the Episcopal Church”?* Thanks to UTO representative, Mathy Milling Downing, members of Province III Council had the opportunity to learn this and much more about UTO. As Mathy highlighted, UTO is a way to practice gratitude by giving, which then helps to change our world.
But UTO is about more than just putting coins into little blue boxes. UTO encourages gratitude as a spiritual practice: write a letter of appreciation to a friend or colleague, give thanks for all you see on a nature walk, keep a gratitude journal, notice the good on social media, or write a prayer of thanksgiving to God. You could also pray through some of the prayers in UTO’s prayer book or, better yet, go to www.episcopalchurch.org/uto to submit your own prayer for the 2024 Prayer Booklet!
You can also learn more about UTO’s mission and ministries at the above website and more about events and UTO’s Christmas 2022 cards here.
