Following the violent clearing of peaceful protesters from Lafayatte Square and the portico of St. John's Episcopal Church on June 1, 2020, Mariann Budde (in straw hat), Diocesan Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, and members of her staff visited with and prayed with protesters agains police violence.
